Peter Hemming ProfileAfter an early career in Banking, Retail and Transport, Peter spent 17 years with an Industrial Laboratory Chemical Company. Here he worked in Production Planning, the Computer Department and then ran the Export Office for 7 years. During this time he headed up a number of major project teams involved with computer payroll systems and then a system involving stock control, export order processing and staff specification and salary structures.
Peter was then asked to be General Manager of the European franchise of Karrass where he was responsible for marketing and developing training programmes world-wide. His area of specialisation was negotiation, personally presenting speeches, seminars and workshops throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia/Pacific.
Following this Peter was an independent consultant working in the area of:

- Leadership and Team Motivation
- Presentation Skills
- Cross-cultural awareness
During this time he was Negotiating Skills Course Director at Henley Management College, and worked with the Civil Service College and London Business School.
Peter established Karrass Europe for Dr Karrass in 1992, and was Director for Europe & Asia/Pacific. As well as giving seminars and speeches, to private and state enterprises, worldwide he provided negotiation consulting to organisations and individuals.
An Executive VP of CITIC Trading first invited Peter to China in October 1998. Following this he has subsequently met with Director Generals, Divisional Directors and Directors of SETC (State Economic & Trade Commission); SDPC (State Development Planning Commission); SEPA (State Environment Protection Agency); MOFTEC (Ministry of Foreign Trade & Economic Co-operation) from which two divisional directors have attended the Karrass Effective Negotiating seminar; CCPIT (China Council for Promotion of International Trade); SMPG (Shanghai Municipal People's Government); FPETC (Fujian Provincial Economy Trade Commission); China-Singapore Industrial Park Development Co; SAMI (State Administration of Machinery Industry); MoC (Ministry of Communications); Bank of China; CSIEE (Centre of Shanghai Industries for External Exchange); MLSS (Ministry of Labour & Social Security) and General Administration of Civil Aviation,
Peter has given many speeches in China at events organised by SETC; First Priority Consulting, a Chinese training organisation, and the British and American Chambers of Commerce. During one of the FPC events he was interviewed several times by Suzhou TV Company, which was subsequently broadcast on a national business programme.
In October 2003 Peter was asked by MASCO USA to give a speech, about doing business in China , at their Global Purchasing conference. Following this Peter used his China experience to develop a 1-day China Insight workshop that he currently presents in the USA , Europe, Australia and China .
After a meeting with the Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal People's Government Peter was introduced to their two training divisions, East Best and Foreign Enterprise, and discussions are being held on areas of mutual co-operation.
Karrass Europe has now restructured to Karrass Worldwide, with Peter becoming a part-time Director so he can focus on developing global business, expand China Insight, consult with clients and improve his golf!!!
Consulting clients have included a European electronics company negotiating with three Korean organisations, an American Petrochemical company negotiating a €38 million service contract with a German organisation, a joint USA/Japanese consortium bidding for a $5.3 billion nuclear contract in China (which was won) and an American Mining company negotiating with Government and the Local Community in a South American country.

彼得近期的咨询客户包括一家欧洲电子公司与三个韩国团体的商务谈判;美国石化公司与一家德国公司洽谈价值三千八百万欧元的服务合同;美国/日本财团成功地竞标5-8亿美元的中国核能合同;美国矿业公司与南美,印尼政府和当地社区的谈判;德国在中国的汽车制造商进行的内外文化交流和商务谈判。
目前彼得正在与深圳的华为公司协商,为该公司的国际谈判小组物色合适的人选并为谈判人员提供文化和商务谈判培训。
